Coolibah (Eucalyptus Microtheca) is one of the hardest and strongest timbers in the world. Coolibah is found throughout Australia in open woodlands, floodplains, seasonally flooded areas, and the edges of swamps. Aborigines use the branch and leaf as a fish poison as well as a poulticed for snakebite. Coolibah is mentioned in "Waltzing Matilda", the unofficial national anthem of Austraiia. Coolibah has been successfully introduced to Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, and Tanzania. An excellent firewood, Coolibah is cultivated in the Sudan for charcoal. The deep red burl offered here is of exceptional grade and very rare.
